The Brunch Club (aka the Nittany Social Club)
The next Brunch Club will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, August 17th.
The Brunch Club is a group of gay and gay-friendly men that get together twice a month to socialize over a late breakfast. We meet the first and third Sunday of every month, at 11 a.m at the Elks Club of State College on Route 45 (directions below). In addition to ingesting massive amounts of good food (buffet: $9.95), we chat about everything from Penn State football to Broadway shows to how cold it was during the last camping trip. We hope you'll join us for the next meeting.
Directions to the Elks Club: From downtown State College--head down Rt. 322 toward Boalsburg. In Boalsburg, turn left onto Rt. 45 (you'll see a giant cow on top of a restaurant to your right). Go about 3 miles on 45 and turn right onto Elks Club Road. If you need directions from a different starting point, the address of the place is: 100 Elks Club Road, Boalsburg, Pa.
If you arrive before 11 a.m., you can just wait in the lobby until a critical mass of gay-looking guys are milling around. After 11, stick your head in the dining room and look for us, or ask the wait staff for the "men's group."
In addition to the twice-a-month breakfast, we also get together for other social events. In the past, we've gone canoeing, bowling, camping, hiking, caving, and kayaking. Suggestions for additional monthly outings are usually brought up during breakfast conversations.
GLBT Potlucks -- These monthly potluck dinners are open to ALL members of the GLBT community. They are a great way to meet new people, make new friends, and catch up with those you haven't seen in a while. Just bring your favorite covered dish, dessert, or beverage to share.
